Writing a Persuasive Essay Is a Challenging Task for Students
The argumentative or persuasive essay is the way to persuade other people, to make them adopt our way of thinking over some issue in a civilized manner. Thus, with the help of arguments we can share our views and introduce our arguments and counterarguments.
The writing of a persuasive essay needs some preliminary preparations. Consequently, you should think over the topic, the arguments and find the support for your arguments. Thus, you may need some help. In order to illustrate different views you can ask your friends’ or professor’s opinion about this or that problem.
Therefore, the structure of the persuasive essay can be as follows:
- In the introduction of the persuasive essay you should discuss the problem in general, state your clear opinion on this problem.
- The next step that should be taken is the writing of the persuasive essay body. It should contain no less than two arguments, supported with a specific idea. Then represent a counterargument and refute it.
The persuasive essay will sound more convincing if you quote from reliable sources. (Not a quote for quoting, but a quote for establishing authority).
- The conclusion must tell the reader of your persuasive essay about the main points of your work. It means that the persuasive essay should contain not only the list of the arguments; the arguments must be enumerated according to relevance and succession.
Consequently, the argumentative essay should be written in understandable language, which does not leave space for imagination and different assumptions. The persuasive essay should contain your thoughts and arguments represented to analyze the problem. The arguments should be supported, or else the persuasive essay would not persuade anybody.
